Common questions

Is 96 Check made by Apple?

No. 96 Check App is an independent, informational tool. It is not affiliated with, authorised by, or endorsed by Apple Inc.

What does a check look at?

Find My, iCloud lock, Lost Mode, device management, carrier lock, blacklist and warranty, for iPhone, iPad and Mac. The App looks up status information held in third-party databases for the identifier you enter.

Terms of Use, section 2

How do I enter a device?

Type the IMEI or serial number, or scan it with your camera or a photo.

Is it free?

You can start with a free report. Some lookups are paid and offered as one-time in-app purchases processed by the App Store. A successful purchase pays for processing a single lookup request; it does not guarantee that any specific data field will be returned, as that depends on the underlying sources.

Terms of Use, section 8

How do refunds work?

All billing, cancellations, and refunds are handled by the App Store under its own policies.

Terms of Use, section 8

Can 96 Check unlock a device or remove Activation Lock?

No. The App only reports status from third-party data; it never unlocks, removes, bypasses, or alters any lock or protection on any device.

A result indicating that a device is blacklisted, in Lost Mode, or has Find My / Activation Lock enabled is a warning that you should not proceed with the transaction.

Terms of Use, section 4

Does it check the battery, screen or other hardware?

No. The App is a software-based records check. It does not physically inspect the device’s hardware and cannot assess or detect its hardware condition or any fault, for example the screen, battery, camera, logic board, water damage, or prior repairs. Inspecting and testing the physical device is your own responsibility before any transaction.

Terms of Use, section 2

How accurate are the results?

Results depend on third-party data sources that may be incomplete, delayed, or incorrect. You must not rely on any result as the sole basis for a purchase, sale, valuation, or other decision.

Terms of Use, section 5

Which devices may I check?

Only devices that you own or are expressly authorised to check.

Terms of Use, section 3

What if a device turns out to be lost or stolen?

If you believe a device is lost or stolen, do not buy or sell it, and report it to the marketplace and the appropriate authorities.

Terms of Use, section 4

What is sent when I tap Check?

The identifier you entered (such as an IMEI or serial number), together with the basic technical data needed to return a response, for example a temporary request token and the app version. If you turn on notifications, a push token and your device model too. Never your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, or location.

Privacy Policy, section 2

Where is my check history kept?

On your device only. It is not uploaded to us and is not synced to any account. You can delete a single entry, clear everything from the History screen, or remove all of it by uninstalling the App.

Privacy Policy, section 3

Why won’t the app open on my iPhone?

For security and integrity reasons, the App does not run on compromised devices, including those that are jailbroken, rooted, or otherwise modified to bypass operating-system protections.

Terms of Use, section 3
